"As a graduate student in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Houston, my research focuses on developing advanced optical imaging techniques for noninvasive biomechanical characterization of biological tissues. In particular, I have worked extensively on Brillouin microscopy and optical coherence tomography (OCT) to quantify mechanical and structural properties in systems such as the cornea, retina, organoids, and developing embryos. My work integrates optical system design, experimental validation, and computational signal processing to improve spatial resolution, sensitivity, and quantitative accuracy. Ultimately, this research aims to enable new insights into tissue mechanics in health and disease, with applications in ophthalmology, developmental biology, and translational biomedical diagnostics."
